APOSTASY, "FALLING AWAY' IS THE ACT OF PROFESSED CHRISTIANS WHO DELIBERATELY REJECT REVEALED TRUTH AS TO (1) THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST, AND (2) REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS ATONING AND REDEEMING SACRIFICE (1 JOHN 4:1-3,"Beloved, believe not every sprit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the spirit of God: Every spririt that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world". PHILIPPIANS.3:18,"For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ". 2 PETER.2:1,"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themseleves swift destruction"). APOSTASY DIFFERS, THEREFORE, FROM ERROR CONCERNING THE TRUTH, WHICH MAY BE THE RESULT OF IGNORANCE (ACTS 19:1-6, And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coast came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have you received the Holy Gost since you believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were you baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. THE APOSTATE IS PERFECTLY DESCRIBED IN (2 TIMOTHY.4:3-4; For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lust shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.And they shall turn away their ears fron the truth, and shall be turned unto fables"). APOSTATES DEPART FROM THE FAITH, BUT NOT FROM THE OUTWARD PROFESSION OF CHRISTIANITY (2 TIMOTHY.4:3-5; ). APOSTATE TEACHERS ARE ALSO DESCRIBED IN ( 2 PETER.2:1-9),(JUDE 4,8,11-13,16). APOSTASY IN THE CHURCH, AS IN ISRAEL (ISA. 1:5-6, 5:5-7), IS UNRIMEDIABLE AND AWAITS JUDGMENT (2TH.2:10-12, 2 PET.2:17-21, JUDE 11-15, REV.3:14-16)
TODAY ALMOST 2,OOO YEARS AFTER WHAT WE JUST READ, I WANT TO TELL YOU ABOUT SOUND DOCTRINE AND TRUTH, FABLES; 2 TIMOTHY 4:3-4
IN THE LETTER TO THE ROMANS 6:16-18; KNOW YOU NOT, THAT TO WHOM YOU YIELD YOURSELVES SERVANTS TO OBEY, HIS SERVANTS YOU ARE TO WHOM YOU OBEY WHETHER OF SIN UNTO DEATH, OR OBEDIENCE UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS? BUT GOD BE THANKED, THAT YOU WERE THE SERVANTS OF SIN, BUT YOU HAVE OBEYED FROM THE HEART THAT FORM OF DOCTRINE WHICH WAS DELIVERED YOU. BEING THEN MADE FREE FROM SIN, YOU BECAME THE SEVANTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

PITMAN CHURCH OF CHRIST IS DIVIDED, SOME BELIEVE BIBLE TRUTH AND SOME DON'T
THE SHEPHERDS AT PITMAN TRANSGRESS THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD BY THEIR TRADITION (MATTHEW 15:3) (MARK 7:9,13). THEY HAVE A TRADITION TO PLACE FORMAL MEMBERSHIP AT PITMAN YOU HAVE TO MEET WITH THE SHEPHERDS FOR A TIME OF TALKING AND DOCTRINE AND IF THEY APROVE YOU THEN YOU CAN PLACE MEMBERSHIP. THIS IS A SIN, IT IS ADDING TO THE WORD OF GOD BECAUSE WE BECOME MEMBERS WHEN WE ARE ADDED TO THE CHURCH OF CHRIST (ACTS 2:47) NOT BEFORE AND NOT AFTERWARD, WHICH IS AT THAT POINT WE ARE BORN AGAIN. NOT BEFORE AND NOT AFTERWARD.
I am still wondering why you continue to come here since you consistently seem to find things wrong with us. Why do you not find a church family that you can worship with that more closely agrees with your pharisaical interpretations? Does not the Clayton church come closer to agreeing with your understanding of truth?

HORATIO FENTON ONE OF THE PITMAN SHEPHERDS WAS BAPTIZED IN A BAPTIST CHURCH IN 1982 IN FLA. HORATIO STATED IN PUBLIC THAT HE WAS NOT A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST WHEN HE LIVIED IN FLA. HE STATED THAT THE PEOPLE AT PITMAN DREW HIM TO THE CHURCH. HORATIO WENT ALONG WITH THE TRADITION OF THE ELDERS AT PITMAN AND NOT ONLY DID THEY ACCEPT HIM, THEY MADE HIM A DEACON AND THEN A SHEPHERD. ONE OF GREATEST EVILS FACING THE CHURCH TODAY IS THE WILLINGNESS FOR SOME CHURCH LEADERSHIPS TO GIVE IN TO UNBELIEVERS, FALSE TEACHERS, AND THOSE WHO DO NOT CONTEND FOR THE TRUE FAITH. OFTENTIMES THIS IS DONE WITHOUT MUCH REGARD FOR THE SON OF GOD WHO WAS WILLING TO GIVE HIS LIFE THAT WE MIGHT HAVE LIFE, AND HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY. 3 JOHN 10:10
PAUL WROTE IN HIS LETTER TO THE CHURCH IN COLOSSE, "AND WHATSOVER YE DO IN WORD OR DEED, DO ALL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS, GIVING THANKS TO GOD AND THE FATHER BY HIM." COLOSSIANS 3:17
WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO CHANGE THAT WHICH GOD HAS GIVEN TO US THROUGH HIS HOLY AND INSPIRED WORD; YET, SOME MEN HAVE TAKEN IT UPON THEMSELVES TO DO SO BY FOLLOWSHIPPING UNBELIEVERS. THEY DO THIS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOCIAL STATUS AND NUMERICAL GROWTH. THE FACT OF THE MATTER REMAINS THAT 500 PEOPLE SITTING IN A CHURCH BUILDING ON SUNDAY MORNING WHO HAVE NOT OBEYED THE PURE UNADULTERATED GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST ARE STILL 500 PEOPLE SITTING IN A CHURCH BUILDING ON SUNDAY MORNING WHO ARE NOT CHRISTIANS!
WHO ARE THOSE WHOM WE ARE ADDRESSING AT THIS TIME? THE UNBELIEVERS, THOSE IN DEOMINATIONALISM, CULTS, SECTS, FALSE TEACHERS ( SOME IN OUR OWN BROTHERHOOD), AND THE OTHER FALSE RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD. JESUS SAID, HE THAT IS NOT WITH ME IS AGAINST ME". MATTHEW 12::20.
LISTEN FRIEND, YOU ARE EITHER FOR CHRIST OR AGAINST HIM. YOU EITHER OBEY HIS WORD AND WILL, OR YOU DO NOT. WHEN YOU CHOOSE NOT TO OBEY HIM IN ALL THAT HE COMMANDS, YOU ARE NOT RIGHT WITH GOD THE FATHER AND WILL BE PUNISH FOR YOUR SINS
SOME BRETHERN ARE AT FAULT! BY GIVING IN TO UNBELIVERS, ACCEPTING THEM, AND PARTICIPATING IN THEIR EVIL WAYS, THEY ARE BIDDING THEM GOD SPEED. THEY ARE ENCOURAGING THEM IN THEIR EVIL DEEDS AND MAKING THEM FEEL AS IF THEY ARE RIGHT WITH GOD WHEN THEY ARE NOT! MUCH GREATER THAN THIS IS THE FACT THAT IN DOING SO THEY ARE PARTAKERS OF THEIR EVIL DEEDS. AS SUCH, THEY WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THOSE THINGS THEY HAVE DONE AGAINST THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST.
JESUS WANTS A SPOTLESS CHURCH, A CHURCH WITHOUT BLEMISH. ITS IS OUR DUTY TO EARNESTLY CONTEND FOR THAT FAITH THAT IT WOULD BE JUST THAT: A GLORIOUS CHURCH, NOT HAVING SPOT, OR WRINKIE, OR ANY SUCH THING; BUT THAT IT SHOULD BE HOLY AND WITHOUT BLEMISH. EPH.5:27

All The Church Ever Talks About is Money
One of the most common complaints I hear about churches is the title of my article. From people outside of church, and disgruntled church members, the constant accusation is that churches are greedy. In many cases, the complaint is, unfortunately, justified. THEN HE GOES ON TO SAY "BUT IN OUR CHURCH" I THOUGHT PITMAN WAS THE BLOOD BOUGHT CHURCH OF CHRIST? IS IT OR ISN''T IT?
He professeth to have the knowledge of God: and he calleth himself the child of the Lord.
14: He was made to reprove our thoughts.
15: He is grievous unto us even to behold: for his life is not like other men's, his ways are of another fashion.
16: We are esteemed of him as counterfeits: he abstaineth from our ways as from filthiness: he pronounceth the end of the just to be blessed, and maketh his boast that God is his father.

Can one's baptism be invalid? To answer this question let's turn to Acts 19:1-5. Paul found some disciples in Ephesus who had "not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost." When Paul asked them unto what were they baptized they responded, "Unto John's baptism." Paul explains to them the purpose of John's baptism in verse 4. Notice the response of these disciples as recorded in verse 5: they were "baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus" upon hearing Paul's words. In these verses we see that one may be baptized, and have their baptism be invalid. These disciples saw the need to be baptized again once they had learned the truth. John's baptism ceased to be in effect once Christ died on the cross and the church was instituted. Just as these people needed baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus once they heard the truth, people today who are baptized in response to false teaching need to submit to baptism in the name of Jesus to have their sins washed away. If one hears and believes error, they will not be baptized for the right reasons. Once they hear and believe the truth, they must repent of sins, confess the name of Jesus before men, and be baptized for the remission of sins in order to enter a saved state
